What are the benefits of training with a weighted vest?

Training with a weighted vest increases resistance during bodyweight exercises, making movements like push-ups, pull-ups, and squats more challenging. This leads to greater strength gains, improved endurance, increased calorie burn, and enhanced bone density. It’s one of the most efficient ways to progress calisthenics without needing extra equipment.

How heavy should my weighted vest be?

A good starting point is 5–10% of your bodyweight if you’re new to weighted training. More experienced users may use 10–20% depending on the exercise. Adjustable weighted vests are ideal, as they allow you to progressively increase the load as you get stronger.

Do weighted vests help burn more calories?

Yes. Adding extra weight increases the energy demand on your body, meaning you burn more calories compared to the same exercise without a vest. This makes weighted vests effective for fat loss and conditioning.
