Pull ups are one of the best exercises for strengthening the back muscles. Doing pull ups will also recruit your biceps, shoulders and pectoral muscles. We at Gravity Fitness believe everyone should be including pull ups into their workouts and believe all men should be able to perform at least 10 strict pull ups and at least 5 for woman – the question is can you?
Pull ups will improve posture by building strength in your “Pull Muscles” which will strengthen and tighten your back over time. As a general rule you should be doing as many pull movements as you are push to ensure balance throughout your body.
Doing overhand grip pullups will predominately use your back muscles, working your biceps as a secondary muscle. To recruit more bicep you should use an underhand grip, performing a chin up.
Whilst the pull up will recruit a small amount of your chest muscles, they are predominately an upper back exercise. Push ups are the opposite movement to a pull up and these will predominately work your chest. Its important that you work both push and pull movements in order to ensure a balanced physic and reduce chances of future injury.
Pull ups will mainly work your upper back muscles, however in order to generate the power needed to pull your body up will engage your core. In fact its essential that you build a strong core in order to perform proper form pull ups.

Espectacular pero me llegaron los tapones rotos. Muy contento con el aparato
Very pleased with the Pull up Rack, building quality very good with nice black finish. Easy to re-build and move places. Excellent customer service. Definitely recommend so far. Thanks The whole Team for great work.
This is a great piece of kit, I recently moved and left my gym rig in the old place. I needed a pull up bar and so took advantage of the Black Friday sale. I had avoided this bar as I thought it would be too precarious but it’s really solid and doesn’t move when I use it, I don’t feel like it’s ‘unattached’ and can pull up and chin up with no problem.
I was also curious so tried a negative wide grip pull up expecting the bar to at least shake when I jumped up but it doesn’t.
My one issue with this bar is how difficult the base is too collapse when storing it. The upright part of the bar with the clips is easily dismantled but I find the button clips holding the base together almost impossible to budge. I’ve left it in tact but one of its benefits is its transportability and I can’t collapse the base easily enough for this to be a boon.
Without that issue this gets a 5
The gravity fitness portable pull up bar is very easy to construct and deconstruct making it ideal for small living space's. You can use it for a bunch of different exercises. The bar is secure and sturdy for a portable setup. Well worth the money and don't regret buying. Ideal for people who prefer training at home compared to going to the gym.
The portable pull up rack was a great purchase. Exactly what I needed. One of the bottom rails is welded very slightly off square so once it’s clipped into place it’s very hard to undo… mine stays erect in the garage but this could be annoying if taking down frequently
